Awards & Apologies

I’m behind on both my movie watching and my movie reviewing. Apologies.  Here’s a quick recap of what I’ve seen worth reviewing since my last review:

Tower Heist was quite funny, economically cathartic, and may help bring Eddie Murphy back from the brink of his career’s impending doom.

The Muppets was also very funny, self-aware, long overdue, and appealling to just about any age – except, perhaps, for teenagers, who might find it banal in their own teenaged way.

And that’s about it. Not even kidding. I wish I was. It’s been an incredibly busy semester – much busier than I anticipated. And next semester will be even busier.

Now, awards. The Actors Guild has released it’s nominations. Here’s a quick summary from the NYTimes. And here’s all the noms. I’m going to do my best to watch as many as possible and write some quick reviews in the not-too-distant future. Until then. Adieu.
